Tapping at my door
I sit waiting,
For my sweet Lenore

The walls start to sweat
The raven keeps rapping
I get my gun
To shut out the tapping

“Let me in” He yells.
I take another sip
The gun by my lap
And the raven repeats.

Why are you here!
I yell to him
He keeps tapping
I won’t let you in!

You’re driving me mad!
He keeps rapping
I get my gun
And he starts laughing

“Where is your Lenore?”
Do not speak her name!
I steady my gun
Ready to aim

I take the shot
The blood starts to pour
Not from the raven,
but from my head to the floor.

  • Woah, unusual write with a pretty unexpected ending.

    Thankies for sharing this.

(still a bit taken aback, heh)
