Array ( [sid] => 126969 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => This Withering Heart [time] => 2006-10-15 22:26:39 [hometext] => About a good mans heart, that is possessed by a woman who torments it.Another woman, loving this man, wishes to have his heart as her own so she can heal it. [bodytext] => A beautiful but withering heart he has,
a slave to another who owns it.

The sweetest of desires and aching love unrealized,
a heart that can render itself to no other.

I want to possess this withering heart,
its flesh cut and torn from the agony it endures.

Bleeding from a thousand wounds,it beats on,
struggling against a fate it is helpless to avoid.

Yet it emits a love unmatched by any,
this withering heart of endless despair.

How can I help heal this bleeding heart,
when it is locked away from all except one?

It is held captive to the love that he felt,
helpless against the strength of the chains that bind it.

Will she give me the key that releases it,
or will she keep it locked despite it's torment?

This withering heart will die unless nourished,
by gentleness, love, and the soft hand of fate.

I want to make it mine and mine alone.
My heart calls out to it,but to no avail.

It will not answer, for it belongs to only one,
this withering heart,to my sadness,belongs to another. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 362 [topic] => 39 [informant] => JennyF [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
