Array ( [sid] => 126916 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Taking that chance [time] => 2006-10-14 17:05:48 [hometext] => I have written a few others but this is my first submission to this site.A simple poem about what I am going through right now. [bodytext] =>
The first day I met you,
sparked something in my heart.
But we could just be friends,
so I had to play that part.
I stood by and waited,
while others had your love.
But at night in the silence,
I'd pray to God above.
To give me just one chance,
one chance to make my stand.
And now the time has come,
when nobody holds your hand.
But things are confusing,
not going as I had thought.
Complications they abound,
but I have to take my shot.
I need to express all this,
these feelings I can't deny.
I am so very frightened,
someone else will catch your eye.
I am scared another woman,
might actually feel the same.
Someone we both may know,
maybe even an old flame.
So I need to get my courage up,
and this I solemly vow.
I won't take a chance on losing you,
the time to act is now. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 228 [topic] => 2 [informant] => JennyF [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Take a deep breath and step forward!
I'm all for love and taking chances - you never want to think you let the best thing slip by without even trying!
I wait to read your future work!
This is a nice piece - good flow!

- Tim
