On a journey of dusty paths and a darkened trail…
Where all our dreams will all but fail…

The trunks of dead trees have began to sour…
No trees grow leaves when in this sad hour…

Our minds grow weary in a cobwebbed hollow…
And sink further into emptiness with things to follow…

No light in view when we open one eye…
No path to lead us out no matter how we try…

We grasp for hands that are not there…
We feel for guides we think do care…

The sun has set and won’t return…
The dark so cold yet it severely burns…

Our souls are lost but never were found…
We seek for love but there’s none around…

Someday we’ll find the way out…
Somewhere there are words that we can shout…

Some how we’ll see the light in the sky…
When we open our eyes we will know why…

That these days come and why we need…
To not hold on and our pain feed…

Nothing is evil unless you make it…
Nothing can harm us if you don’t let it…

Open both eyes and you will see…

A wonderful write Bill. It is both thought provoking and so true.
You show all the fears we feel, and give hope. I really enjoyed this very much. Sue x

  • Aw noes, I'm sorry to hear you've been sick.
*hugglies*. Hope you're all better now.

I love the way this poem starts out pretty dark,
but then becomes a bit lighter and more inspirational, y'know?
Especially in the last few stanzas, like:
"Nothing is evil unless you make it,
Nothing can harm us if you don't let it."

Honestly though, all the elipses (the "...") distracted
me like nuts - though that's just my personal opinion heh.

I really liked the picture, that was a wonderful touch,
specifically because it actually relates to the whole poem (first couple of lines in particular),
Some people just throw in a picture and it has nothing
to do with anything, jeez. >,>

    Thankies for sharing though.
    *hugglies*

    Kat.

    Dearest friend, Bill~
So sorry to hear that you were feeling a bit under the weather, I hope that all is good and well with you now.
I have to say in all honesty my friend what I love about your writes is that they are so 'real'.
One can relate to your work in some way or another.

Nothing is evil unless you make it…
Nothing can harm us if you don’t let it…

Open both eyes and you will see…

Faith, love and hope guide your beautiful heart my dear friend. May the beacon of your beautiful heart lead you to higher shores dearest Bill~ I believe that where there is love the heart is light & where there is love the day is bright~ Wishing you and your wonderful family bright & blessed days always. Thanks for sharing this with us my dear friend.
    love, hugs n prayers,
    Sue M
