Array ( [sid] => 12685 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Pretty Girl [time] => 2003-02-15 18:40:00 [hometext] => This is one of the first poems that I ever wrote, it's probably the longest too. Enjoy! [bodytext] => The pretty girl is one to see,
For she's much prettier than you and me,
She sings all day, songs of joy,
About the love she has for a boy.
How much she loves him, he'll never know,
Her biggest fear is of the word "No,"
He means so much, you don't understand,
How much she wishes she could hold his hand,
She knows her wish won't come true,
That's why she's decided not to persue.
The days go by and still she's silent,
Until one day her dad becomes violent.
She doesnt know what else to do,
Run, but where to run to?
She goes to first person she can think of,
The one and only person she loves.
She needed a shoulder to cry on,and he was there,
She felt better as he ran his fingers through her hair.
He admired her for being so strong,
The truth is, he'd loved her all along.
When the tears were gone and she was fine,
Her special boy asked her "Be mine?"
The girl was shocked and had nothing to say,
She barely managed to say "Ok,"
They stayed together for the longest time,
Until one day her dad had too much wine,
She stayed home while he went out
He came back and then got loud
She couldn't get away, although she tried
It seemed the neighbors ignored her cries.
Once her father realized what he did, he was sad
How could he have killed her, he was her dad.
The funeral came and the boy cried,
He wondered how such a wonderful person could've died,
He knew she was watching him and always would,
He wondered if he treated her like he should.
Her memory gave him comfort and peace,
Because he knew she wasn't really gone, not in the least.
