[bodytext] => A second That’s all you need. It’s more than enough. Over generous, even. To sprout hope or pangs or longings. Create stories, imaginary conversations, Guilt, or guilty pleasures. Heroics, friendship, connection. A smile, a wave, a shout. A kiss, a kick, a trick. A second will give you a door to enter Or exit. A window, to look through Or in which to look. If you catch the sunlight right, you Just might reflect in that window. Take a quick look. But not more than a Second. Because after the first Second, comes the Second. This may be less helpful. This second Second is very talented at smothering The First The Second welcomes doubt and second-guesses, and what-ifs. Contemplation into the nature of consequences. You might just be bullied into standing still. Because, what if you fail? The Second is the enemy of action. It encourages stasis, and breeds fear, And we all know the ending of that story: Regret. But that first Second was enough. More than enough to encapsulate light years of action. You really should know better than to keep counting after the First Second.
