[bodytext] => I am the last of the first people, My children will be the first of the last- To wake and walk to a future long past, Buried and forgotten in the sands of time Like the resting place of an ancient slave, And dig in the earth a place to sleep- A bedroom or a grave. For I come from that land, Untrodden by angels and unseen by man- Where time and beauty exist to weep, When reality becomes perception And perception lies in slumber deep, Not ever trembled by steps above For silence is a terrible reception. Yet the unattainable is carved in stone While my life is spelled out in the dust- Never to falter but forever to rust, And fear the future but hate the past With an anger surpassed only by lust For some final end to attain, And a role that fulfill I must. Because I am the end of the beginning, And the beginning of the end- For I hate my father but his flock I tend, To wander around in midnight light I have no master but feel like an escaped slave, With no place to go, save for one place The grave.
