The inner depths into which we sink,
Become so familiar
That we spare ourselves the pain that is to think,
And just slip right back
Into the world of regret, hatred, and sorrow,
Caring only of the past and of today,
Thinking nothing of tomorrow.

Somehow we climbed outside that hole.
Once just wasn’t enough, though.
Into the darkness we return,
But only for that light do we yearn.

We come outside and manage our way.
For almost a year do we stay,
But then the memories come flooding back,
And once more within that bottomless pit we sat.

Years go by, in and out again,
We are desperate to break the cycle that breaks men.
Passion and desire light our new eyes,
With a brush of wisdom we paint the hopeful skies.

Hope that knows its boundaries,
Desire that knows the darkness of desperation,
Cynicism that knows its reality,
Form us, in a renewed creation. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 328 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Chamaron [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

You have written this with such great passion and desire to be renewed. May you find and keep the peace and joy you seek in your heart. May your renewed desire bring you many blessings.

that hole you speak of i have been in for almost a year now. it seems like the world just isn't worth it . my kids are the only reason i find to even try life. everything and everyone else just don't seem to matter. i can associate with this wonderful piece of writing more than you would think. i like how you think.definitely going to read more of your work.
