I see you walking past
One question fills my mind
Was it best, that what we had didn't last?

We walk past each other
With nothing to say
Except a simple mutter of hello
Then we continue on our way

These words that hang on my lips
I wish were easier to say to you
But we both make it so much harder
Now i can't say them, and there's nothing for me to do

If I could've said anything
Would we still need mending
If I could've done anything
Would it have changed our ending

Look back to when we first met
Erase our hello's and our conversation
Erase our flirty glances, and tempting thoughts
Erase that moment you asked that question

You asked if I would come inside
And I knowingly said yes
I knew that we would share more then a kiss
But I didn't know, it would end in such a mess

An innocent kiss, that led to so much more
Led to me wanting to be with you
To late night visits, and pointless fights
To me believing in something that wasn't true

Now look at how we are today
Avoiding each other
Like we each hold a secret
About one another

Think back to all the great times and bad
From where it ended, to where it did begin
If we could go back, and get a second chance
Do you think we would do it all over again? [comments] => 5 [counter] => 1807 [topic] => 24 [informant] => pyrochick [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )

Excellent

this is normally no second chance with love but the way you phase it there might be a first chance at true love. I love the poem and thank you for your words. best of luck

I lack to words to say how TRUE to life this poem is. Living in a small town and going through a VERY painful breakup is hard..... seeing that person on a day to day basis is evern harder. BRAVO on this poem, it captured what I believe everyone goes through immediately after an awful breakup. NICE JOB... keep up the good work..... LOVE, PEACE and CHICKEN GREASE
