Hoping that today will finally be the day,
When all is made worthwhile,
And my heart can come alive,
But the words never come.

In time I'm sure I'll tire of this,
The game of 'Cat and Mouse'.
I'm sure I'll find somebody else on which to pin my dreams.
Perhaps I've already met them; on a bus or in the street.
Or maybe I should find a new hobby,
Something else to take up my time.
I could build models out of matchsticks.
For now though, I'm content to wait.

Just a word from you could set my heart racing,

Very skillfully recreates the obsessional qualities behind some forms of unrequited.

Seems - looking at your other work - that you've found her.
I quite often catch myself thinking "I wonder if I just tried to strike a conversation with that person" or "I wonder if anyone on this bus would really 'click' with me"... all pointless really...
I'm now at a point reflecting your last two lines.
This is a nice piece - very true of the heart and yet fairly light about it. Great work and I'll keep an eye out for more of yours!
