I turned it into a song
It’s life and only life but it’s all we got
And life can be fun like the other day
I sat on the couch and got high
Sang a song about something
It was a song about remorse
But we sang it happy and we were high for the chorus
Funerals raged and bodies built on the pyre
Dust collects in the lungs after a while
Take the wool from your eyes and toss it in the fire
As things begin to mount they build in a pile
Might as well throw something else in there too
It was fairly somber and fairly morose
A little too dark so we sang it that way
Things just aren’t that dramatic and those are just words
Life is a series and sometimes it’s not
And life is not serious but you can respect it if you want
Share when you’re young and trade when you’re not
I’d tell you we all end up on a pyre but we don’t
I’d sing you a song about it but I wouldn’t like the words
I’ll sit on the couch like I did the other day
I’ll save you the refrain and throw in something else
