They sing, they play
There’s something about children’s voices
The emotional display
Our feelings go astray
When they sing
In such a beautiful colorful way
A sound that resonates
A delicate beauty
A lullaby with no restraints
A sound so beautiful
A resonance
A tear forms on our face
And for good reason
These children so dear
Sing what we all want life to be
And they so innocently
Don’t know the horror it can be
And we wish they never do
And wish we never did too
And it’s just a hope and a wish
And a prayer
That they never have to

Nice poem-BUT- if they grow up innocent they will be child like parents. Not able to teach. They would only be children bring up children. I think this is part of the problem in america. HOLLYWOOD wants you to stay in HIGH SCHOOL all your life and have plastic surgery at 65 to try and be in HIGH SCHOOL.. You see people not acting there respected age.Example; child porn and the sex crimes against children.

Very powerful words Tom. It's a sad state of affairs, no?

Too bad life can't be truly like it is seen through the
eyes of a child. I remember those days ...

life ~ so full of possibilities .. how do we lose that?

exceptional write, my friend. Thought stirring to say the least.
