On the day you became a better man…
You decided to be the best you can…

The world looked great through your glasses of rose…
When you saw her smile and her tiny toes…

When she began to walk she would stumble…
She looked into your eyes and made you crumble…

Her first days of school made you scared…
Your baby was growing up. You were made aware…

She’s still your little girl. You would say…
And in your head that way she’d stay…

She reached preteens and you became a watcher…
You were once a boy. That made you wiser…

Her teen years became real hard…
Your hard work had no reward…

She went in a direction you hoped she wouldn’t…
You tried and tried but she just couldn’t…

Be who she should be and went the wrong way…
And she has left you in a deep hole today…

What you need to know my dear friend…
That no matter how much knowledge you send…

You as a parent send them down the road…
And put them in the learning mode…

You hope they take the right turn…
And not the wrong turn, you deeply yearn…

All you can do is your best…
And hope she will do the rest…

Sometimes it turns out bad…
There is no reason to feel sad…

You have done the best you can…
And hoped she would when off she ran…

It’s not your fault my dear pal…
With a dad like you she’ll be a good gal…

Please don’t blame yourself…

Such words of inspiration (and wisdom) can only come from a gentle giant who has walked in the shoes of a "daddy" with his "shoulder to the wheel". This is an awesome write and display of what you are, Bill, and Sadaddy's comment speaks volumes of him ... and you. That prediction of mine will come true for you.

Our children....I remember causing soooo much trouble growing up, now my daughter is 10 and I'm saying OMFG...a teen in such a short time...I hope it all turns out well. Thanks for sharing. Your brought tears to fill my eyes. A touching poem filled with wisdom and heartfelt words. Your beautiful loving heart shines radiantly throughout this wonderful piece of poetry. As I can see from Sadaddy's response that he is thankful and much appreciative for the kind words that you have beautifully penned for him. Wishing you both many bright and blessed days~

For you to be able to write this so Wholeheartedly and so sincerly is so selfless and such a nice thing to do, it speaks volumes about you as a person!
I hope sadaddy feels better i'm 19 i have lived much more than i should have for someone my age, and i fear have put my mum through the worst in my childhood, and i don't think kids mean to put thier parents through hell if they do... i think sometimes they are just stuck for a way to communicate, anyway best wishes to sadaddy and Wonderful poem
