With a purposeful and deliberate affection saved not for him
But for someone else-
And flaunted in front of his eyes
The longest five minutes of his pathetic little life
He can’t help but watch the touching
All he wants to do is hang his pounding head down and die

Jealousy is a trait he had never learned to harness
The man is broken and can only lash out at himself
While reciting a useless promise
She asks if he is hurt-
He has no choice but to lie
She tells him stories in her inescapable voice
He refuses to believe-
That she always cries
He pretends he cares not-
And when he leaves
He leaves his heart on the table inside
For her to do with it as she likes
What she wants-
Whatever the hell she wants

After all he has witnessed
And the pain he still feels haunts him
He wants her nonetheless
He craves her –
As she begins to slowly undress
She is the redeemer of his haunting loneliness
She is his pretender
His lover-
Surrendered-
In no real moments of tenderness
He is her one in a many
Countless nights become his nemeses
As sunny days pass with zero brilliance
In all of her glory and glowing omnipotence
She controls him-
He is unable to show any sort of resistance

Distance- placed between two whole faces
He was always missing the other half
He accepts his dilemma
Even though he knows there is no escape
Or no places-
More depressive-
Then sitting in his tiled shower-
Pondering a drowning bath
She is pure and addictive
Occupying his waking dreams
She is unavoidable to him
As everything begins and ends with her
He is trapped in the center
A worthless human being

Intense write. I don't know whether you are referring to a drug or a woman here....both can be so toxic. That last stanza really spoke to me. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura

wow jyss! Powerful indeed. I agree with Laura .. how can
both be toxic. Sounds an awful lot like love to me, (as it most
certainly has the pesuasion and addictive qualities of a drug).

I wonder how many of us feel the strength and power that
love wields .. truly. Some seem so unaffected by it all. But
this piece is testament that you have the power to emote
to the depths, what this disturbance does to us.

Exceptional ~

Jyss.. I've come late to this:
as I do, the better things in life
my apologies-

so..
let it be said, here and now, that you are a better man than I-
L11 - L12 in the 2nd, are testament to this.. and only, recently.. within the last ten years-
though, in retrospect, I'm reminded of my own, many follies~

..right there in the pain, I am..
