Calling my weary heart to repose;
While 'round the day of nature calling,
The curtains of night gently close.

Soon o're a sleepy world reclining,
Numberless stars through yonder sky
Shall look like eyes of cherubs shining
Throughout the veil of darkened sky.

Guard us, oh thou who ne'er sleep-
Thou who in silence throned above
For all of time, unwearied keep,
Thy watch of glory power and love.

Grant that beneath thine eyes securely,
Our souls from light and life withdrawn
From all the darkness, still and purely
And under moonlight, rest till dawn!

Sweetest heart~

very soft and peaceful indeed .. and with the most
glorious romantic overtones. Like a wafted kiss,
this touches the very depth of me.

I have to say, dearest, that each stanza, (brilliant
to a fault), gently rocks the heart in a soft grace, but
the first one is, my absolute favourite. The metaphor,
the beauty, the tenderness of it, is stunning.

And this is the magic that dreams are not only made
of, but are fulfilled as well.

As you are so fond of stating .. beautiful to a
pain, sweets. Like an angel's sigh.

eternally~

I love what you did with the first line (I'm sure you know what I mean with that ;) )

I find this as beautiful as ever. I have never found a write of yours that hasn't stunned me. This, of course, is no exception.

Good write my friend,
Phil xxx
