I am lost
I am somewhere I am not suppose to be.
There are paths all around me; some I know,
and yet I can not walk in those directions,
some I want to know, but there may be no way back,
and some... some I can not see at all
and it is those that I fear more than anything .
I am lost...
I am afraid
I am sitting and waiting, unable to move
I feel it passing me by, I see it moving forward.
I am running out of time, and still I sit.
I have to catch up, only death awaits me here,
but which path is mine, which one is for me
I know it is fear that holds me still, and yet... I wait.
I am lost
I am afraid...
I am alone
Only I can save myself, I am unable to be found.
I hear them calling: familiar voices, telling me that they miss me
and that they want me to come back;
beautiful, sweet voices, telling me half truths,
and offering me, what might be, forbidden fruits;
and voices that I can not make out at all,
no matter how hard I try to hear them.
I am lost
I am afraid
I am alone...
I am dying
I don't know how this happend, but I feel it inside.
the longer I wait, the further I slip,
and the further I slip, the more I feel compelled to wait.
The sky grows dark, the leafs begin to fall,
the wind moans, and with it the voices start to fade.
I hate those voices, but I know that one,
and only one, has with it...
my salvation.
...
I am lost

Well I would consider that this is a poem about split personality, but then again it could be someone on the verge of suicide. Depression and failure being the keys. Well wether or not I got what it was about, this poem kept me interested. It definitely is routed in darkness. Thank you for sharing. Sue x
