When a woman holds a baby
What has she done?
And the baby holds the woman
Her eyes shine like suns
As she looks into the woman’s eyes
A bonding has begun
When the woman and the baby
Caress each other as one
There’s a love there
So good and pure
It’s replication
Never done
When a woman holds her very first child
It’s a love that screams
A love that bleeds
A moment now become
Like no other moment
That will ever, ever come
When a woman holds her baby
The Earth the stars the sun
Rejoice in one loud voice
At what she’s done
And in such a precious moment
A new life has begun
But the woman holds her child
Oblivious to everyone
Deformed or maybe ugly
That’s not what she sees
A child has come
Fulfilling all her needs
And the precious moment
Seems to actually bleed
From the depths of emotion
And the children we set free
When a mother holds her baby
It bends us to our knees
She’s so painfully grateful
Her tears have all run free

As a man I'd say you have a great perception of mom and baby.
Good work.
huggs,
emy

that very good. I thought you were a mother until i saw the other comment. Amazing my sister she just had a little girl about 5 months ago. And i know exactly what you mean. When she is holding the baby feeding. I catch her just sitting there staring at the baby. Who wouldn't tho... a sleeping baby is the most peaceful thing in the world. Just wanted to say how much i admire your poem

Yeah, when my son was born, my first child, he came by cesarian. my wife was oblivious to the horror I saw because they put a curtain up. As I held her hand, she kept asking me, is it okay down there, and I gently told her she was fine, while personally nearly bursting with the seeming brutallity of it all. It wasn't pretty, including the wads of bloody gause on the floor...
That said, when they popped my son out it all changed!!! It was miraculous! The most high I have EVER, OR EVER WILL BE. I am sorry, but I left her there, and went to wash and hold my brand new baby. I can't describe the feelings I was having, there is no poetic words that even go there.... God that was a beautifull moment...
