A thousand voices
And only mine melts
Into the pits of ignorance
Where I rebel
Where I fight back my indifference
To whether or not I care to tell

I took for granted
The fact that you werent there
I have only myself to blame
And living with my choice
I've held my head in shame
Helped me to regain
What was once lost
And now remains
Closer to my heart
As close as being apart
A toast to a new start
You exclaimed

Why open up
When closed keeps it in
Hidden
From the sights
Of those trying to pin
The burden of proof
The struggle will prove
That commitment wins over sin
Any resentment
Should be refrained from within
Speak only good words
You never know who is listening
Eavesdropping
Pill popping
Excuse for a king
The verdict is in
Guilty as charged
The other side wins

A handsome reward
Offered
In the name of peace
Once cornered
There is no escaping the howling beast
When bread rises
There is no taming the climbing yeast
All is said and done
And now we begin to feast
On bread and butter
Dipped in holy water
Salt and pepper
And the growing appetite
Makes the meal complete
Makes it impossible to feel obsolete
Like not existing
Walking on your hands instead of your feet
Balancing a reputation
Accepting a resignation
Of an operative ousted like chopped meat
The footsteps push forward
My courage is in retreat

Babble on and on
Like a broken machine gun
Stuck on auto-shoot
Spraying bullets into a crowded phone booth
Pellets of love crack and chip at my front tooth
A gap to insert the brains that have been cognitively regrouped
An offshoot, positively off the tip of my boot
Its on the tip of my tongue
I have nothing to loose
If nothing is used, then nothing gets done
And the game is over again
The other side won
