Of the long and winding stair,
I was worried at first you see,
Of what I would find up there.

The stairs were full of memories,.
Both happy and also sad,
The times when I cried in pain,
And the glad times that I've had,

The friends I met along the way,
The loves that I have lost,
The reason to keep moving on,
To get me to the top.

And then I spied in front of me,
A star on the horizon,
My heart it missed a beat,
I, at last was realising,

To get to where I want to be ,
My memories had to be unfurled,
For I am on the last step now,
I'm on top of the World [comments] => 4 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 19 [informant] => jerseysue [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

Oh, we should all be so lucky, Sue... but the journey is a long one and most of us have just begun. Each precarious step can be quite the adventure if there is much clutter strewn on those steps, making it rather difficult to find one's way forward. We shall, though, ever endeavor to try --- for we haven't, really, any choice now, do we? lol.

Happy to hear you're perched at the top there,
~Snemmy

OH gosh, sue, this is wonderful!

When climbing a set of stairs such as these, I've found it
to be of excellent advice to take one step at a time ..
perhaps, even pausing a moment to linger on each
step and familiarizing yourself with it. Once at the top,
you can look back with a satisfaction that you climbed
your way up and remember each and every mar and
chip along the way ... I think it's just beautiful. I hope when
I reach the last step, I am able to look down at my staircase
with a sense of accomplishment and gladness~

Beautiful write, Sue.

Very reflecting reading this, on my part...

We all have to realize our past before we can move forward...
I am now halfway up the stairs and have had to many bad
steps to climb... I have climbed them and pressed
on and now I have better days....

Thank You Sue

Bill
