And I see everybody’s eyes gaze so emptily at the winter sky

I wish I could cry, I would shift unto another star
Hoping to find something other than bones inside me chest
Because in spring our arms are longer and we can reach far
But its too cold today, you need to run inside and put on your vest,
And your mask

I can’t look at your face, I can’t ask questions I need to ask
You make me feel as if I was walking barefoot in snow
Your lips are shut you show me I can’t grow

I remember when you used to be like spring
Everybody seemed to fall in love at the sight of you
And as I search right now, I feel that its still somewhere deep inside me,
The happiness you used to bring
The beautiful song your eyes would sing
Now I look around and everything is blue

I remember when I thought I had a clue
Ignoring the wounds that your warmth would sooth
When I touched your hand I could not move
And flowers would grow and leaves would be red, brown, and yellow too

Its such a shame that spring had to part
Now your cheeks don’t glow
And your eyes sing a different song, a song that hurts, the song of a crow

In spring everything was beautiful
Your heart was yellow, and words we whispered in each other’s ears made us mellow

But our spring has passed
And winter has come to stay
And regardless of how hard I try; I cannot seem to find any love for you
In this harsh winter day
