I found the medal of honor,

pictures, and letters
to my dear Ma Maw,

War time treasures
both bitter and sweet.
The war took his life

Some tears were shed
when I opened that chest
I’ve now seen my paw
at his heroic best..

He died for liberty,
so we could be free
Yes, he was a hero

What a beautiful poem..really sad but to know how brave he was . I think your so lucky to have those treasures of him to reflect upon and draw strength from when times get tough. I think he would be honored knowing how you felt..when it comes right down to it..its the family and friends that count. You have such a wonderful gift and I just love to read your poetry..everyone I have read pulls at the senses. Hugggsss

you beautifully gave us a thought
of a hero and how much he missed.
I'm happy you're proud
with your hope chest of paw.

thank you for sharing
