Array ( [sid] => 125327 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Behind My Reflection [time] => 2006-09-05 00:30:24 [hometext] => To Jake, obviously, because nobody could ever come this close. [bodytext] => Here is the mirror, let me show you your face
Should you smash it I'll only calmly glue it back together
Then I will paint with my words and the brush of compassion, each crack in the mirror a most captivating beauty
Then smash a mirror of my own for sweet, mere juxtaposition, and the fact that I haven't indulged for a while

Here is the mirror, let me show you your face
Should you cry in its face I will be the reflection behind yours, my hand on your shoulder
Then I will listen to your cries, absorb your tears and make you learn how they can only hear
Then remain constant and close in order that your cries may be heard and comforted

Here is the mirror, let me show you your face
Should you spit just to spite it in disgust
Then I will wipe away your repugnance, quash the rumors you lie to yourself
Then you will see in the end your reflection, imperfectly lovely as all real things are

Take out the mirror, I have shown you your face
Should you doubt again look unto me in its place
Then we shall work til you regain your grace

But will you turn to face me?
Will you put your hand in mine?
Hold me dear?
