It stretches its neck towards the one
Drinking the light
Loving yet loathing
When can I drink?
It proclaims, as comfort sets in
A cloud bursts rain
Delightful it exclaims
Is there more to life than this that remains?
As darkness falls it bemoans the sun
Who shies away when the dawn comes
As it sits under clouds it cries
Is there naught I can do
To receive my due?
Where fore art though oh Sun
But life delivers and answers
Were you not here when I’d done?
Would that you ever grew, such as you are
Now done
Into the mist of history now run
Though likely rejoiced by none!

Your poem if full of truth and honesty and I am in the same boat many a day. I love my life yet it feels as if it stinks so often times. It is something that repeats itself time and time again. One minute I get just what I want then the next it's never enough.

Brilliant!

Thank you again for sharing Tom.

Well there is the old saying. Good things come to those that wait. Patience and trust are very little used in this day and age. Your poem signifies that we all don't appreciate what we have, and always want more. Tis a world full of greed we live in. A well written poem with meaning. Sue x

Beautiful, none of us appreciate what we have really we take things for granted.. You dont know what you have till you lose it, its a true saying but we are humans.. One thing I know you really have is a great talent for writing.. xxx
