I never wish to speak again;
These foul words taint and spread the pain,
and thoughts, which only meant for good,
still burn as only fire could.

Now torn is what I have become.
These ragged ruins of myself,
are all that's left of who I was,
'fore I became a hollow shell.

And echoes riot through the grey,
through shadows where I now abide;
as my heart fights for words to say,
to friendly faces, from whom I hide.

For though I'm lost in shadows' plight,
my soul's still yearning for the light

and it's waiting for someone,
anyone, to see,
this broken shadow, left bleeding...

...Is me...

This is such a heartfelt cry for help:

And echoes riot through the grey,
through shadows where I now abide;
as my heart fights for words to say,
to friendly faces, from whom I hide.

May I reply with:

Hiding never did anyone any good,
Perhaps you know it never would,
Shadows surround you, you are blue,
May light return, and with it YOU

Very skilfully written, It was full of feeling and emotion. Hugs. Sue x

Ohhh God! If you didn't just ripp out my own hearfelt feelings

and splay them out for all to see.
Killing the very esence of me
In a poem wrote so beautifully
and descriptively
That all could see

THAT was good! Nice job, Iv'e emotionally been there , infact I live there currently.... Unfortunately.
One of the best poems I've read on this site yet... But then, I may be biased....

To friendly faces, from whom I hide...
Yes, good stuff. An A+ here! Thank you for this poem

And the shadows fade
and return to blues
what's left I ask
And where's my due?
It's all for naught
as the poet already wrote
and will we ever be free
from our own insecurity?

Look what you started Broke!!!

I love the pause at the end. It adds strength to the poem..which is like crystal; beautiful.

Oh my dearest friend ..

I feel shattered by this, hun. The ending is incredibly
distressing and severe.

It pains me to read something like this from you, sweets,
although, I must say, it's amazingly masterful.
An emotional work of art.

so beautifully painful

here for you~

*hugs*

my God Phil..
..so much pain - you segregate yourself needlessly my dear - and although I've only come closer to you in the last couple of months, I have become a better person for it - I, as I'm sure scores of others are, am here for you anytime you need an unbiased opinion or shoulder to lean on luv~

Be kind to yourself~

I thought I heard you
moaning
here
in the shadows...
I feel you on this flow
well done.

Powerful lines, my friend. I'd like to echo Billy here - you have touched the lives of many of us, and I'm grateful for that. But, when it all comes down to the most basic of things, we fight, because life really is hard. And you fight well, and stubbornly, and I can't imagine that fight going unrewarded in the end. Keep fighting the good fight.

Blessings.

Andrew

Phil,

What a beautiful creative piece, a real work of art. The way your words are woven together is so impressive. There is mystery and drama and mystique. The search for one's self, and the plight for self discovery, a very daunting quest.

Well done, Philly

Will

  • Aw noes, I'm so, so incredibly sorry I haven't dropped by to your page in yonks.
    I seriously regret that now.

This piece is.. full of woah's.You know? Woah's. Lots of them.

I love the way it seems quiet, yet strong.
I'm not sure I can explain that any better,
maybe it's the physical appearance of the poem
that makes it seem small and little,
and the words and feelings it portrays are
so powerful.. now that is an amazing contrast there.

My favourite line would have to be, "And echoes riot through the grey."
Probably because you've personified echoes and made them riot,
because well.. usually they just - echo.

I could totally lose myself in this.

    *hugglies you*
Stay strong Philly, I'm here if you ever need to talk too.
    Thankies for sharing. :)

    Kaitlyn.

I've said it before, but it's so appropriate here....It always seems pain brings out the best writes in us.
    God, You are awfully good!!
and by the way, don't ever forget who has shared that room with you, often there are more than one shadow in a dark room.
    Hugs lil sis.
