I pulled you in close enough to smell your sweet breath on my neck
Your hair like a silky stream of warm water threw my fingers
I no longer try and fight it
My fingers gently close your eyes
Our lips meet and the whole world disappears

We become engulfed in flames so hot you cannot feel them
Our bodies begin to melt together
I reach inside you and touch places that you didn’t know existed
As our bodies begin to crumble under a thousand pounds of passion
We shake together in pure ecstasy

Our bodies return to normal temperature and we lie in the tall grass as it rains
We both look at each other not seeing the outside but seeing into the hidden space
There is a sky full of shooting stars above but none so bright as the ones in your eyes
I gently kiss you all of you and it all goes away again

“The time has come for me to go, will you be here waiting for me the next time the rain hits the tall grass?” I whisper against your neck

“I will wait here for you until the clouds run dry and tall grass becomes short and brittle” you say a single tear rolling down your cheek

I wipe the tear from your cheek and walk away into the tall grass

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
