Will I stand alone
With my feet planted in the dirt
Of a cracking mountain top?
Will my only companion be
The wind as it caresses my cheek,
And tousles my hair?
With the sun brightening my skin to red,
And the sound of seagulls in my ears,
Will I stand alone?

A thoughtful read. Well constructed and expressed.
Existential questions like this are paradoxical, in that all of us feel this way at some time or another- so really, are we ever alone, despite our physical and mental separateness? Probably better under self struggling or life poetry.

i like this, short and not so sweet. something that all of us wonder, yet surely, we all of us stand alone, as none can ever truly fully comprehend the depths of our thoughts and emotions, intriguing read,

Seagulls on a mountain top.... Who'da thunk it? I like it, it flows well, and expresses the feeling we all have at times, that of feeling alone, even in a crowd. Good job.

Very insightful and beautiful write. I think that is our human condition to feel alone at times. The place you spoke of in this write sounds like a good place to be alone at. A quit moment of calm reflection with yourself and nature. THen you arent alone, each living things is near you and a friend. Believe me.
Love this write.

Out of all the poems I have read tonight this one struck me the most. I like the subject of this poem very much because being alone means different things to different people. I wonder if you mean this in a spiritual sense or physical. I get the sense it's spiritual from the use of your imagery. Great job. |

I got the feeling that the place you describe is one of your own imagination...perhaps in mind when you find yourself lonely.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this one. Your description was very keen, indeed. |
