Peace or Parts

A lump formed in my throat,
As my idol broke my jaw.
The sharp pain that echoes silently in the gut,
Deeper even than the wound on the heart.
Shaped by violence, molded with abuse.
Spun out of control before balance had its chance.
Destiny and fate where interlocked,
A strangle hold, forcing an old cycle to continue.
Finding freedom in pain,
Guilt becomes shame,
What is unrealized is potential.
Nothing sacred in a world of scars.
Beggars fight over the ass end of a cheap smoke.
Discarded humans are rarely such a prize.
Thank of fore fathers for the Corp,
Those bastards will take anybody.
Part of the problem
Part of the solution
It may hit harder than my idol, but
I am a part of.

Clever writing, but I don't get it. Was this childhood abuse, then older observation?

very abstract, i must say! but an essence of truth remains, we are all part of the problem, and only we can find the solution, enjoyed this thought provoking read!

Wow, the images in this are really strong and painful. I'm not exactly sure what you're dancing around but it makes me think of the military. The ending has me too. I don't know whether its something you are proud of or if its a defeatist attitude. I would really like to know though. I found this piece to be really interesting. |
