[hometext] => I have not been through this, but there are some words I know of and feel for. Perhaps one day he and I can make it once more together-forever.
[bodytext] => She left a goodbye letter just the other day He was surprised but read it anyway She told him sorry and explained why He glanced away, but read on anyway There was no stopping--he had to know He knew he would cry either or She told him it would have come eventually She gave him hints, but he knew he was a fool Something was missing in her life-he read Work keeps him late and dinner gets cold No money in the world could keep her warm Didn’t even notice the ‘I love you’ note on his car door He had to stand up and get a drink Something real strong for he’ll loose it quick One more shot before reading the rest One more shot to have near just in case She tells him how she feels this is for the best She says how much she got depressed He jilts the chair as to fall to the ground “Oh why did she have to leave—tell me why?” He sees it’s near the end and wishes for hope The last phrase hits him with remorse He notices a mark--a tear perhaps His eyes are swollen now She mentions there’s no life in their home No more running to the bedroom door She wishes she could have given more He wishes he could have listened more He stops to look at their picture once again How beautiful she looked on their wedding day He remembers what she said on that special day “You filled my void with your soul, love, and touch.” There was more he knows, but he never forgot His love was there and knew he messed up She says goodbye as he reads the very last line He makes his amends as he sets it aside This is the last of the verse No more heartache as he picks up his coat He turns once more to remember their time As he closes the door a small sigh is heard “I’m sorry-I’m sorry one day I may be forgiven.” [comments] => 1 [counter] => 221 [topic] => 32 [informant] => europeanprincess [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
