YOU

Tell me where my soul is, and
I’ll ask you where is yours
And you say that their a-roaming
On distant, sun kissed shores

ME

Whisper me sweet nothings, and
I’ll sing you songs of joy
How in all the world’s great turmoils
A girl still loves a boy

US

Ask me how my heart beats, and
I will tell you to the tune
Of breathless nights of passion
Beneath a harvest moon

ONE

Wonder what I’m dreaming
And my secrets will be yours
Shared in lovers’ union
On those distant, sun drenched shores [comments] => 10 [counter] => 389 [topic] => 2 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 40 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

May you be blessed in this thing, my fellow aussie (and pantheist.) I can't comment much-only you truly can appreciate the scale of intensity that you feel, but at least I can appreciate where you are coming from, especially as of late. Thanks for posting,

larkspur

Now I know why I said I'd be in love with you if you weren't so ugly and the wrong gender! I actually love your work, ya wrinkled up old soul! SUPERB!

I really loved this. It is so breathtaking and romantic, I really loved these words:

Ask me how my heart beats, and
I will tell you to the tune
Of breathless nights of passion
Beneath a harvest moon

It reminds me of times gone by, with my husband. Thank you for sharing. Sue x

Know what I wish for you, Spike? I hope... that no matter how many wonderful pieces you post in this category and no matter how many YPDCers pop by to say it's beautiful and romantic and breathtaking and lovely...

that you, for having discovered something so utterly blissful, find yourself looking down at the page and feeling as though you only caught part of the everything it is.

*nods* Yep... that's what I wish. For you. For me. For all of us.

[Oh and, Spike? This is beautiful and romantic and breathtaking and lovely. *wink*]

Knowing the possibility of that,
~Snemmy

hmmmm .. something seems to be brewing in the land of kangaroos ...

S~ this touched me in ways I am hardly able to express .. almost like
a dream. It feels so painfully ethereal and yet beautifully real as well ..

I have been in both places .. the throws of passion and wishing
to be. AND, I have written romantic poetry in both instances .. I don't
know which is more taxing- trying to capture feelings you can only
remember or penning the emotions in the very instant that
you feel them .. somehow, I feel, we can never truly capture
all the wonder and beauty of love. Somethings just
cannot be explained, you know?

Still .. this was exceptional. I love the breaks between the stanzas.
And the imagery, well .. it's just exquisite, spike, my friend.

gorgeous

~Breezy

This is a hottie - very romantic and a bit steamy....I like it. I like the way you titled each verse as it makes it seem like scenes in a play or chapters in a book giving different perspectives, nicely done.

:) Merry
