Shoots through my veins, burning cocaine,
The sea spray’s a froth, paint it on thick,
Like the magician, thinking of the next trick,
The needles point, a silver star,
Caught in the web of sky,
No distance is ever too far,
Go on, give it a try,
Float on your sea of reason,
I’ll stick with ecstasy,
There really isn’t anything left,
In this bitter old world for me,
The reason for this addiction?
I suppose it is unknown,
But in this room of a thousand people;
I’m completely on my own. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 308 [topic] => 66 [informant] => Ruby2sdy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => drugabuse )

Sorry to keep quoting you Rube but "The sea spray's froth, paint it on sick" is sublime genius. Such visual use of our beautiful language. Love it. x
PS Hope your bud is ok.

Oops I meant thick not sick! I guess you worked that out as it's your poem. All these typos-think I'm working too many hours...
