Screaming in my ears
But I’m the only one that’s listening
I’m the only one that hears

All the things I long to say
Welling up inside
Words I dare not utter
Pain I strive to hide

This silence is not empty
In fact it’s like a quilt
That’s smothering me, I’m suffocating
Choking on my guilt

Silence roars
It grips my mind like steel
My unspoken words of pain and hurt
The loneliness I feel

My words try to escape
Through tightly sealed lips
But I’ll hide these words in shadow
A perpetual eclipse

My silence once roared.
My silence was ignored.

i loved how it flowed perfectly, though it had metaphors, it was easy to understand, and unfortunatly to relate to. fantastic job.

God, this hits hard. This piece feels sooo heavy. You really did an excellent job of getting this on the page. This, in my opinion, is the sort of thing that is so impossibly hard to express. I swear sometimes I feel like I would practically vomit words onto the page if I were brave enough to allow it - but I'm not (not always). Yeh... i found something relatable here... and because I did, I'm so entirely impressed with your ability to get this out and to share it here. I imagine it was a difficult write. But you did - you certainly did do well.

And... welcome to YPDC, by the way!

Keep writing,
~Snemmy
