It was a taste acquired over time.
The ale's stout and distinct flavour sits in your memory.
Much like love.

While we do seek it and hope to keep it, love is bitter at times.
In fact, it is as much the bitterness, as passion and devotion.
The flavour of love, stout and distinct, is unique and unforgettable.
Even so, I crave and seek it like no other thing on earth.

One can not forget the ability of ale to bring relaxation.
It carries a gentle peace and rekindles fondnesses of days past.
Ale is of good bounty as long as one doesn't abuse it.
The same of love.

Love brings me peace and eases my soul.
Its heady aura bringing memories of family and friends, so that in their honour, new love may grow.
We must learn to love as we should drink.
That is to say, with wisdom.

Occationally the cogs of my body, mind and soul grind, seeking different revolutions.
It is in these times that I am most thankful for both.
One an eruditic achievement and the other an abstruse pursuit.
I choose to savour love and ale, for as long they both will flow from my bottle. Yoko Ono once said: Love is relaxation

and they DID seem to be said in bold.

And I love your poem, there is wisdom.
