I Cannot Say Goodbye

Contributed by Willofree on Monday, 14th August 2006 @ 06:20:55 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Eyes moistened and tearful
Shocked that you would leave
Not a clue, had I, that you were displeased
Insides churn like an erupting volcano
I feel set ablaze inside
As though I am dieing within

Memories of playful loving times
Constantly fleeting through my mind
The pain unbearable, I find
Frolicking in the golden flowered meadow
Spread before us like a golden carpet
In a state of bliss and song
Lying on the moss covered ground
Describing shapes of puffy white overhead clouds
Reflections of rippled images
In the still waters of the pond
Swimming naked in the moonlight
In ouir own private revelry

How could we loose such a state of bliss?
What transpired that we could abandon all this?
I cannot say goodbye,
Adios, Sianarrah, until we meet again
Or just plain, I will see you later
Anything but good-bye
I watch you walk away
And you disappear in the shadows
My feelings burst forth
Plummeting to the depths of my soul
I have no inkling why you ran
And fear shrieks, "never do this again"

I find this so sad.

It is scary how much can be lost by lack of communication, and how much passes by unseen...

I have seen it too many times.

This struck home for me, Will. Well done.

*hugs*

Ooo This was a sorrowful piece. The disappointments of a relationship...the other person not knowing....not seeing subtle changes, etc. Your last line..."And fear shrieks, never do this again" It is so hard to start all over and trust again. You brought out much in this write. Thank you for sharing.
Peace, Laura

Incredible piece of work. Honestly, I'm blown away by it. So much so I hardly know what to say. Very, very touching. :)

Oh Wil .. you really captured the surprise of suddenly feeling
abandoned AND the definiteness of swearing to never trust or
get into something like that again.

Heart piercing .. and very emotional write.

So sad when this happens ..

I am personally pleased by the authors note that this isn't about anything that you are going through yourself ... though at one time or another I am certain we have all felt the pangs of such loss. I think it can start as early as childhood with divorcing parents and move on all throughout our lives. Each time someone is lost it becomes harder to allow anyone else close. Another wonderful write Terry.

You nailed this one.
Many tend to overanalyze in such an obvious way, but of those that live in denial, refusing to see what is right before their eyes...until it too late....I'm not sure which is worse.
