Few words:

"I don't love you anymore."
And with tears

In her eyes

That forced a stumbled
Advance

Towards the bridge,

With hate in her breast

That matched
The crimson red paint
Of the bridge

And sent enraged thoughts

Like caged pigeons freed
Through her head,

She made her way
To the bridge.

She climbed,
And stopped on the middle.

Stopped to think
There - halfway between chaos and calm.

The lilting treble of birds
Chirped resolutely, ever-cheerful,

As she remembered

Times when they had love -
And when they had fun.
Times when her life was great -
And when it was
At the worst it could be.

But she closed her eyes,
Quieted her thoughts and
Listened to the stream flowing underneath her.
The serene setting around her -
An anesthetic for her pain.

She stood for hours

There in the middle of that bridge,
With birds and trees around,
Sunlight embracing her.

Finally she cried, letting out the grief,
The frustration, anger, and hate,
And washed herself away in that moment.

She wanted to cross then.
So, sliding away from the railing,
A lingering desire to hold on,

She turned, stepped and stepped,
and started to descend
Along the bridge's steady slope.

Step,
Her mind relaxed,
Giving in to her inner peace.

Step,
Her body relaxed,
Giving in to her inner peace.

Step,
Her soul relaxed,
Giving in to her inner peace.

Face wet, but with old tears, not new,
She walked off the bridge,
Pausing to look back,

To see
The crimson paint turned dull and rusty,
The rich brown wood victim to age and weathered,

And wondered if it wasn't
Always that way -
Tattered and old... and somewhat treacherous.

She looked ahead again,
Seeing the welcoming glow of the leaves that
Weaved in and out of the sun with the wind.

She stood still, glacing around.
The air above her,
Shimmering,

Showered a fine misty rain that slipped silently,
Unconsciously, down onto a radiant,
Smiling face.

Very good. Intense and from what I
got from the beginning of it, very
painful. But all in all, there was a
happy ending.

Nice write.

It isn’t often that I like poems
that tell as story, but you have
wrote a truly wonderful poem.
The symbolism in this write is
very creative. These lines:

Seeing the welcoming glow of the leaves that
Weaved in and out of the sun with the wind.

Are very beautiful. You have a
wonderful talent!
