Knowing the heads were turning
But you just kept on walking
Didn’t even think twice about it

Something made you notice me
From atop your high horse
And you came down long enough
To come over and start conversation

You came in with all new faces
Staring you down from head to toe
My familiarity drew you in
And you sought refuge in my words

The girl I knew in HS, she had it all
And she had men falling at her feet
But they didn’t want what I wanted
…Your heart…

I can’t believe you had the nerve
To speak to me like you were my friend
Just waltzing up like you wanted to see me
Well baby, you’ve got a shock coming to you

Who do you think you are?
What do you think I owe you?
You don’t know how hard it was 2 years ago
To have you laugh in my face

Back during senior year
At Steven Westbrook’s party
I told you I’d been watching you
From straight across the room

And you were so caught up in your popularity
That you broke out in laughter
All your friends joining in
I should have known better then

So now you want me to say
“Hey, how are you?” to make you feel better
Well, it’s not gonna happen baby
So enjoy the sound of my laughter.
