Array ( [sid] => 124128 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => September [time] => 2006-08-05 21:29:56 [hometext] => When you watch them walk away and never come back, it makes it that much harder to accept them when you get older and grow up. This about a loved one leaving you. [bodytext] => ---------_________-----------------

I saw your hadlights in the window,
my face was pressed against the glass
I waited years for you to return before I learned,
That you were never coming back

Im going to close my eyes before i start to scream

I'm dwelling on things I've never noticed,
you won't save yourself you're never going to save me
I only stumbled once for a moment and it was over,
I think I'll close my eyes before i start to scream

You said todays the day goodbye just won't wait

If you need me to... I'll wait until September.
It's come and gone Novemebers on it's way.
So easy to forget and hard to remember
The way to getting back our self esteem

The lines on your face are getting clearer,
to me you'll always be my family.
they said I wouldnt hold on too much longer
but i'm so much stronger then they ever thought i'd be

I'm going to open up and tell you everything.
No regrets. You've got no one left!
I hope that every step reminds you of the ones that you left.
September was cold and Im still here, I never left! I suspect this piece will hit hard for many readers. It did, I must say, for me. For me, it was October............. some twenty five years ago now. And to be perfectly honest - I don't think it was the "leaving" itself that was the hard part (it was time, you know... past time) ---- it was, rather... the "never looking back" that I still, now, cannot understand.

Extremely well done. You should be proud of this piece... it is so painfully real that I feel compelled to applaud you not only for the result but for the strength you've shown in attempting/achieving it.

My best to you -
~Snemmy

I too, (like snem) can relate to this in a terrible way. I don't think I missed the
leaving, or the never looking back until I was an adult and in need. That is the first
time I really realized how much "space" separated us. That you have held on,
(I'm still here, I never left!) is an incredible feat. And a very noble one. I see
a reverent hope in this write as well as such sadness and lingering grief.

I also applaud, not only your effort, but your accomplishment as well. Good luck to you.

~Breezy
