..that a kinder time than now, possessed
a moment of this or any OTHER distress,
is something of only dreams are made-

more lonely a time, I ne'er forbade.

And against my sentimental debts
I offer in blood, themes and regrets..
hopes and dreams snatched midair of
all my shame and nearer love.
Imperishable truth at my feet,
drenched.. a finer perception.. and more replete
than is likely to attend me but, forever more-
and found in refuge on a safer shore:
the man I'm sure I might have been,
staring back at me, bereft of love in apathy..
cemented: all meaner fears, within-

Me, a man of twilight sin, much knowledge and little faith-
rounding out all my days to a covenant.
My love is bound in a scourge of security
absent of any and all the simplest purity,
cruelly aborted out of this rage..
burning at my heart's-dead-end of days.

Did your own catch the whisper of a pain
while I and an amber dream
spun on our merry, murderous way,
striking down by our own volition,
needful intentions and all suspiscion?

"I'm losing you again" .. is not the muse-
rather, "as if you were EVER mine to lose."

Love..

Billy
