Break through the cellar door
Capturing dancing dust
Kicked up from the dank floor

In a corner she hides
Watching the show
Quietly she smiles
Her heart he does not know

Beaten and abused
A child so innocent
Stories she makes up
As locked in the basement

A world where mice speak
And dust particles ballroom dance
Where everything is love
And always room for romance

Spiders are her friends
They weave a beautiful web
Tales they also spin
Her imagination flows and ebbs

Her body he may scar
With his power and might
But her spirit he will not break
She will ever win the fight

One day she will break free
She will sing and dance for real
Ever moving forward
No anger or hurt she will feel

For her heart is golden too
As the sun that peeks in
She will be a star
And in the end will win

very pretty yet it touched me with a bit of sadness too that this little girl is enduring such things. The end is hopeful and I see her shining and out dancing. This reminds me of someone

Shari, the ending is so positive and unlifting, but the sadness
that lies before it, tears the heart in two. A very well portrayed
piece of heartbreak and hope, hun. Your writes always
provoke so much emotion.

Shari~
my dear friend a sad, yet uplifting write you have penned for us to read. It saddens me to know the abuse and pain this child suffered. Nothing can ever break a willed and determined heart. She shall be the star that shines~ Very well penned dearest Shari. As always your wonderful poetry always touches my heart deeply.
Take care dear friend and I hope that all is well with u and urs.
love, hugs n prayers,

A golden heart indeed! AND a mind of her own! She's a victim of circumstances, but all things eventually come to an end. She has 2 choices, either be like her abuser, or be just the opposite in everyway. It can be done, I do it everyday.
Very touching, and my how I can relate to this one!
Warm love
