Does not surely mean life
As so cruelly shown in our heroine’s misfortune

What does a wealthy woman want the most?
She wanted knowledge and she read
She wanted the world and she travelled
She wanted love before death

She searched and searched
Through the rivers
Across the mountains
Under every single rock

And was left heart broken so many times
For she never met someone to make
Her doubt her own decisions
Sorrow lived for far too long in her poor grey heart

Until the sun shone revealing a face of a poet
A poet with a lot of love to share
To share with her
A lust not known before to even exist

So they embraced each other
She clasped him firmly from fear of the end
The fear of the feeling vanishing
They lie close under the old oak

But the moment passed
And there was no happy ending for her fairytale
She followed him to the open seas
To the end of the world if necessary

He had something of hers
And she wanted her tormented heart back
For one last kiss
And no more tears

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
