Our little group
Confidential,not known
Public secret that is
There was this person who got us all in
All the girls I mean

I was one of them
Young, naive
Little crazy that is
There was this person we all had a thing with
Was it a myth? I wish

The year went by
the group got bigger, stronger
More ***** up that is
And then the person who was there all along
got lost and it all went wrong

Most of them got caught,
stopped,got clean
gettin smarter that is
Then the person chose the dumbest way
and no game left to play

Those ones who were still in
tired, dead inside
just embarrasin that is
Nobody saw him scared, lost and curled
all tight up in his Black world

Then he got clean
I was still in, amazed
Just being stupid that is
I watched him go sober without anyone else
I still liked him i guess

Then he was mean
Me-lost,still "cool"
Just hurting myself that is
By being mean he tried to stay stop, don't do it
But I just couldn't quit

Then they all thought
me-***** for coke, black
But I found real love that is
All he used to say to me :You are just dirty
but I was happy

Now I'm clean
Found, much better
feeling O.K. that is
In a short conversation he said I was a cutie
What do you want me to do Will?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
