(and I could so relate)
His head bowed to her again
(it was as if I shared his fate)

He seemed fearful of tomorrow
(I could understand his pain)
While his body shook with sorrow
(some sad memories remain)

He seemed as if to need her
(more than anything I knew)
In her arms his world teetered
(life now seen in different hue)

He seemed anchored then somehow
(freed from some insanity)
As if he could disavow
(these curses of humanity)

He seemed stronger than he was
(in certain moments we are blind)
She became his “just because”
(and she never seemed to mind)

Authors note: Ever been asked "why you do so much? Why you try so hard? Why you stay up all hours of the night Christmas Eve wrapping gifts that will be stripped of there adornment in seconds, later that morning?" And while you may know the answer ... all you can muster is a simple "Just because"? Well, the image I saw ... left me feeling like he held on to her, because she was to him, his very reason for all of those things he just couldn't vocalize ... other than, "Just Because !!"

Nazzy, I loved your form, and although I can't relate to your experience, I can to the title. I use it often when asked why do I do the things I do? It's "Just Because" I love you, is always my answer. I always had lots of parties for my kids. No special reason, I called them "Just Because" parties
Enjoyable read Nazzy.
Filled with warmth and beauty!
Warm love

so, kinda like bryan adams's "everthing i do" song ?

that is what i get from it but it seems kinda abstract to me, dude.

keep writing though, cuz it'll get better.

I would very much enjoy seeing this picture, I think. "Just because" is taken for granted sometimes, and it's meaning was well employed with this write. I liked how you structured the piece, and the end stanza was my favorite. Nicely done.

And do these immortal words always end up with the reply, Because I want to. We all have Just because times. The reason being we are human, and have feelings. This poem is a testament to how most of us feel sometimes. Good write. Sue x

I really love this poem! And the risk of sounding redundant, yeah, just because. Basically, it's true though. We all have those just because times in our lives and you have summed it up in this poem perfectly. And yeah, pretty much what everyone else said.

Much thanks for sharing it and I truly do hope your recovery is coming along good.

Take care,

Tim

I can relate to this, some people cant move on just because they cant imagine change.. It hurts the person they hang on to and stops them moving on to. xx

Firstly Naz, the construction of this piece won me over- it could have been a poem about mastic asphalt spreaders (okay, maybe not). I understand the authors note as a question I've been asked as well, and it's not possible to articulate the reasons to a person who even has to ask that question, and maybe impossible to explain at all.

Hi Naz,

Another unique twist in style; again very creative. To me this poem suggests that we can deal with all kinds of adversity when we have the support of a loved one and/or others that care.

Good work, m friend

Will/Terry
I have some catching up to do.....
