Trust is such a precious store,
Like friendships sprung from common ground
Lovers ask for even more,
In you I thought that’s what I’d found
I hoped that you would watch my back,
As I likewise, watched over yours
Instead you levelled an attack,
Payback in your secret wars.
You planned a complex retribution,
For all my many ‘hurtful’ ways
But settled on the wrong solution,
For treachery never really pays
You’re an opportunist, I get the gist,
And I was blind to all your schemes
But why the little extra twist,
The one that soured all my dreams?
I needed you to show compassion,
The thing that you most sorely lack
Your betrayal was an object lesson,
Another knife into my back
I can bear the pain, its nothing new,
Human hearts are weapon-bent
I just never thought it would be you,
The one who seemed so innocent.
Your actions hurt me to the core,
Stole confidence and friendships too
But brought reprisal to the fore,
Karma that will rain on you
Revenge is best when dished up cold,
Biding time before the attack
Yours will come in it’s sweet time,
Until then, traitor, watch your back.

| i can relate to this so much because believe it or not , i had dealt with this at my job. it hurt me so bad. not in a million years i ever thought that this would ever happen to me. but i learned that not ever body is your friend because they smile in your face. no one is always meant to like you. i like this poem. and yes you are right, rain will come down on them. |

I know this all too well. I very much believe in Karma and the person who betrayed me got theirs ten fold. This is such an amazing write with the feelings so raw and pure. Thank you for sharing this and yes they will get theirs.

Hey Spike~
Don't ya just absolutely hate that when you have a friend(who is supposedly ur friend) be nice to u in ur face and then behind ur back they b**** about ya. I believe what goes around comes around . Every dog has their day and this ex friend of yours will pay big time for what they've done to u.
So sorry this happenned to ur my dear friend.
Obviously they weren't really a friend to u in the first place. Take care dearest Spike~
