upon a dusty shelf
flowers born in the depth of fall
and given out of love
redder than the freshest blood
I cannot throw them out
though they be old and faded
and long ago lost their scent
their leaves have withered
their petals wilted
In their dying bodies
I see a reflection
of unconditional love
sometimes I wonder
if that love too
has withered and faded
and now sits in the dusty vase of my memories

I enjoyed this poem. Does the message your conveying have anything to do with death of a loved one? It would appear dying love to me. Interesting and beautiful!!!!

There is no love better than poetic love.
Of all people us poets seem to me to be
the ones who are most in love with the
thought of love. Dwelling on love , its memory
or its death does not seem morbid to me.
It does seem poetic and I believe that to
be a good thing. This poem is also a good thing. Truly , Doug

somethings people cling to, just for signs to encourage the symbols. and with those symbols, they push to enlighten the mind.

you are very good at holding them and I will read.
