take me not to this mourning-
to the trees and the winds
of this mourning Diane

This vale... this vale...
show me not to this vale-
hold me not to this vow
that I gave you Diane

My hands... my hands...
with these mountains be damned-
for the loss of the love
and the smile of Diane

I beg... I beg...
of the ghostly who stand-
please haunt not and hold not

Seems our poetry is along the same lines today. Excellent poem, Poe was kind of a creepy writer but everyone loved him (after his death of course because no good artist is famous while alive, lol).
