Dear Sir,

With regret this message I write,
For I am surely in an awful plight,
We have known each other for a while,
I'm sorry sir, I am now with child,

I came here as a young child,
To work within your house,
I was innocent and green as grass,
And as quiet as a mouse,

You showed me love and caring,
You took me to your bed,
You told me that you loved me,
Now look where this has led,

My belly became swelled and round,
Our love was a secret no more,
I thought that you would marry me,
But you threw me out the door,

You called me a common ****,
A woman like other whores,
But you sir, took my innocence,
This child inside me is yours,

I have heard you are to marry,
A respectable girl she be,
A lady of some standing,
Not a commoner like me,

So my life is full of strife,
No answer can there be,
You never really loved me,
You used me I can see,

So this note is left for you,
As I hang myself from a tree,
Your a ****** and a coward,
Farewell my love from me.
