Array ( [sid] => 123514 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Kinder Surprise [time] => 2006-07-21 21:48:51 [hometext] => Narcissistic, I know. The definition's probably only going to be around on this site. [bodytext] => ---Placebo:
Two empty halves trying to form a whole
Like milk chocolate-y hemispheres trying to convince
Themselves they’ve a shiny, special toy inside

(After all, it’s not a lie unless you don’t believe it)

Hoping to rattle, or at least feel hefty, valuable
Not just sweet on the outside, (and maybe not even that, sometimes)
Not just a few different-colored layers
Crafted securely around a whole lot of nothing

Even if you fell faster, you never fell apart

Because then, maybe, you wouldn’t be so scared of other people
[letting go]
Because all they knew about was the shiny tin-foil wrapper
And not the fragile heart inside.

Kinder Surprise (n. proper) –
“Chocolate, chocolate, and then a toy!
Sweets for girls and fun for boys!
Milk and mint and hidden joy,
Hold it, eat it, Surprise ahoy!”
