Rumble slowly through my mind
Forgotten thoughts now touched on
Behind a wall, no longer confined

Reality infused with fantasy
A sickening little twist
My fondest wish, my hearts desire
Enshrouded in a heavy mist

I once thought I could have it all
Now I realize it was all just smoke and mirrors
What a fool I was to believe
Alone, I face my deepest fears

The past is ever lost
The future never clear
Destination unknown, engulfed in smoke
What will the mirror reflect when I get there?

if you had it all to do over again, would you? if you had all the news of the future laid before you, would you read it?
