You asked me to come with you
But I didn't know the stakes.
I gave a little
Lost much more on the way
Traded my life for a game
That only one can win.
You were cunning-
Never bending in my direction
So I lost it all
Had nothing left to give
Not even myself.
Yet you wanted more
Never enough.
Searched the world for another game
Hoping to find our way-
Thought that was what love was about
Until I realized you only wanted your way
Nothing left to do but run.
I left you alone
Not sorry.
For you left an empty shell
And a cage that held my soul...

Sorry to sound like a TV Commercial but.......read the last one I wrote.......
"He's not the only one"

This one of yours is another so very well written work.. Straight from thr shoulder and in great style. You don't mince words do you!

Mind tou (being a bit of an emotional coward in my old age) I will leave eading the remainder of yours until tomorrow plus the fact that Sophie (our cat) is scratching the hell out of the back of my chair to draw attention to the fact that there are far more important things I should be attending to.............

"See" you again tomorrow
