I don't want to suffer pain,
Just want a normal childhood,
Not be abandoned once again,

Don't want no fancy toys,
Or clothes that look so new,
Just want a mum and dad,
maybe sisters and brothers too.

Want to belong within a family,
To be part of a happy home,
Not stuck inside this childrens home,
Feeling sad and all alone,

Don't want to be a sad statistic,
Or you to feel sorry for me,
For I am sure if you would accept me,
Happy together we all would be,

For I am hoping that one day someone,
Will adopt me and treat me kind,
But the honest truth is will they,
When they see I am blind,

What a sad write... my mum was adopted, after her mother died, and she used to sing me a song called 'Nobody loves me, I'm nobody's child' this poem reminded me of it, how heartbreaking, in terms of technicalities, it's got a lovely rhythm and flow to it,

So sad but its brilliant the way you have been able to go into the mind of a child who needs love and a family but because the child is blind feels no one will want to love them..I know this is sad but true though, I read a story about a woman who fosters and has adopted only disabled children so there are people who would love a child with disabilities..xx

One more thing to say, if people want to adopt because they cant have children they should not just want a baby or a child with no problems, when we have our children there is no guarantee they will be born fit and well, we could not just give them away because they are not perfect.. You would still love them, I dont think people who want to adopt should be allowed to if thats how they feel..Your poem really got me thinking. xxx
