A cry is heard from sea birds there that spread their wings and fly.
Like thunder rolls the ocean breaks and crashes on the rocks.
A ship comes in from voyage long, and harbors at the docks.
The sand is white out on the beach, the waves dance to the shore.
Two lovers there stroll hand in hand, the ocean to implore.
As the sun sets in the sky, and leaves its crimson trail.
Like fire burning horizons edge, the moon appears so pale.
As the darkness settles in, upon the rocks I spy.
The old lighthouse with beacon bright, its warning fills the sky.
An ocean breeze whispers in the night, its song to lover’s plea.
There on the beach two hearts embraced, romancing by the sea.

Ah this is really sweet. I love poems about nature...and the sea. Therefore I think this is great with such a lovely imagery at the end.

I love this poem, its so calming. I am surrounded by sea, as I live on a small island. The beauty of nature shines out from this poem. It is really visionary. Sue x
